The Joint Admission Matriculation Board, JAMB, has announced April 25, 2023. as the new date for the commencement of the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME. The examination body had earlier scheduled the exams for Aril 29, 2023..
Disclosing this on Sunday, the Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr. Fabian Benjamin said in a statement that the shift in date was to accommodate some other major and critical national assignments, as well as the calendar of other institutions.
“The board hopes that no citizen will be denied the opportunity of exercising their civic responsibilities. It should be noted that the board does not have the liberty of shifting forward its examination as other public examinations are billed to commence their exercises in early May 2023.
“Yet another factor is the need to accommodate those institutions with stable academic calendars to resume as scheduled.”
Speaking on the rescheduled mock UTME , Benjamin noted that the exam will now hold on April 18, as against the earlier date of March 30.
The spokesman explained the reason for the mock exam adding that it was for the purpose of testing its preparedness and those of the partners for the UTME in addition to giving prospective candidates the opportunity to have a hands-on experience in the CBT test environment.
