JAMB Withdraws Results Of Students With Bogus Test Scores, Threatens Prosecution Just As Innoson Motors Calls For Thorough Investigation

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has recently withdrawn the results of some students who had allegedly manipulated their scores in order to obtain very high scores  to win them scholarhips or give them undue advantage over their contemporaries.

The two students involved are Miss Ejikeme Mmesionma , who purportedly scored the highest mark of 362 in Jamb in Anambra State as against her original score of 249, and Atung Gerard of Kaduna state alleged to have scored 380, but , who never even attempted the examination.

JAMB authorities have threatened to prosecute Miss Ejikeme for  falsely claiming to be the top scorer of the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination even as Innoson Motors through its Head of Corporatr Communications, Cornel Osigwe has called for a thorough investigation over the allegations of certificate forgery leveled against Ejikeme, who was to have been presented with a N3million scholarship award by the company, before the news of result manipulation against her broke.

In a post in his official twitter account, Osigwe expressed doubts about Ejikeme’s ability to manipulate her Jamb scores calling for a comprehensive inquiry.

He urged officials of JAMB to consider the circumstances and not unfairly target the less privileged.

Osigwe highlighted that Ejikeme was highly regarded by her school’s principal as one of the brightest students, pointing out that her parents couldn’t afford to pay for her WAEC and NECO exams, talk more of paying to get her scores changed.

He appealed to let the disadvantage have a fair trial

Recall that on Sunday, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the head of public affairs and protocol at JAMB, had in a statement he put out, claimed that certain 2023 UTME aspirants were disguising bogus test results in an effort to get an unfair edge.

“It is to be noted that Miss Mmesoma had sent a message to the Board’s platform to request her UTME result after which she manually inflated her scores and pasted same on the 2022 UTME result sheet.

“Unknown to her, the Board had changed the design of the 2023 UTME result sheet. Her original result remains 249 as nothing can change that. With this her ignoble act, Miss Mmesoma would be prosecuted and her original result withdrawn.

“This is not all as the Board would, in due course, investigate all candidates laying claims to higher scores than they actually obtained. Once discovered, such candidates’ original results would be withdrawn forthwith and they would be handed over to relevant security agencies for prosecution.”
