In the headline event of the “Day of Reckoning” card held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Anthony Joshua claimed his third win of the year, achieving a Technical Knockout (TKO) against Otto Wallin. Joshua, with previous triumphs over Jermaine Franklin in April and Robert Helenius in August, delivered a commanding performance, securing a fifth-round TKO against Wallin, known for his challenging southpaw stance.

Despite Wallin’s notable previous clash with Tyson Fury in 2019, where he suffered his only defeat, Joshua showcased his dominance, extending his impressive record to 27 victories and three losses, with 24 knockout wins.

Wallin’s coach, Joey Garnache, wisely stopped the fight to prevent further punishment for his fighter. Joshua, a two-time heavyweight champion, declared his return after the match, stating, “I’m back, I’m back.”

In a post-fight interview, Joshua expressed his ambition to become a three-time world heavyweight boxing champion. He underscored his focus on the journey, avoiding premature celebrations until he secures the coveted title.

“One step at a time, every fight leads to the final destination. Keep on praying, working hard. I’m on a journey, stay focused, let’s see how far I can take it. I respect Otto; I know what he brings to the table, not a throwback, no, another day at the office,” said Joshua.

In another significant bout, Joseph Parker emerged victorious over Deontay Wilder, a former world heavyweight champion. Parker displayed superior skills, securing a unanimous point decision win, with judges scoring the bout 118-111, 118-110, and 120-108 in favor of the New Zealander.

Reflecting on his win, Parker acknowledged the unpredictability of plans, stating, “Everyone had other plans, but this is God’s plan.”
