Counsel to the protesters, Mr. Deji Adeyanju, reportedly expressed concerns over the inconsistencies in the handling of protest-related cases in the country. and the general lack of transparency in the judicial process.

Adeyanju however stated that about 873 protesters arrested in Kano have been released and that efforts are on-going to secure the release of two protesters in Sokoto.
