The National President of Independent Petrol Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Abubakar Maigandi Shettima, has called on IPMAN,  to support the Dangote Refinery adding that such assistance would help boost the Nigeria’s economy.

The IPMAN’s National President made this call following the settlement of the feud between the Dangote Refinery and IPMAN.

Recall that some oil marketers had earlier insisted on importing petrol to compete with products produced by Dangote Refinery.

But Shettima, announced on Monday in Abuja, that they had reached an understanding with Dangote Refinery for its members to directly lift petrol, automotive gas (diesel) and Kerosene from the facility.

He revealed that they arrived at the pact after the successful discussions with Alhaji Aliko Dangote and some of his top management staff in Lagos.

Shettima said: “The Dangote Refinery has agreed to allow IPMAN to directly lift Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK) for onward supply to IPMAN depots and retail outlets.

“This new arrangement with Dangote Refinery will ensure a steady and uninterrupted supply of PMS products across Nigeria, at affordable rates for Nigerians.

“All IPMAN members should fully support the Dangote Refinery, as this is the right course of action, given the substantial benefits of backward integration and its long-term positive impact on Nigeria’s foreign exchange markets.

“IPMAN members nationwide should rely on the Dangote Refinery and Nigerian refineries for their white products, which will create more job opportunities in Nigeria and align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.”

On the plans by the Federal Government to introduce the use of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as an alternative fuel for vehicles, the IPMAN’s National President expressed optimism at the potential of the CNG to revive the economy and improve the quality of life of Nigerians and urged members to commence preparation for transition to CNG refill stations at all outlets.
