Russian forces appear to have gained ground in several key areas, pushing Ukrainian troops back. This shift comes amid a backdrop of increasing calls for a ceasefire, with pressure mounting from various international actors who are concerned about the humanitarian toll of the ongoing conflict. Ukrainian officials have expressed deep concern over what they describe as a slow and insufficient response from Western allies in providing the necessary military aid to counter Russia’s advance.
