Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Set to Resume After Six-Month Suspension

By Our Reporter
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, is expected to resume plenary duties today (Tuesday) following the completion of her six-month suspension.
According to a newspaper report, her lawyer, Victor Giwa, confirmed it, noting that the lawmaker has fully served her sanction and is legally entitled to return to the Senate.
Giwa,  reportedly, warned Senate leaders not to block her return, saying it would go against their own decision and could cause serious disruption in the National Assembly. He added that although there are still court cases about her original suspension, these do not stop her from resuming her Senate role now.
Recall that the Senate extended its recess by two weeks, delaying national matters until October 7, 2025.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, regained access to her office two weeks ago after the Sergeant-at-Arms unsealed it, signaling the end of her suspension.
