Barely 48 hours after President Donald Trump of the United States of America, declared Nigeria, a ‘Country of Particular Concern, CPC, he ordered the United States Department of War, to get prepared to storm Nigeria soon, in the event that the Nigerian government failed to act by doing the needful – protecting the lives of the Christians in the country, who are allegedly been massacred by the Islamists Jihad Group, known as Boko Haram.
In a post on his Truth Social, Trump wrote: If the Nigerian government continues to allow the killings of Christians, the U.S. will immediately stop all aids assistance to Nigeria and may very well go into that now disgraced country, “guns- a-blazing,” to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.
“I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious an sweet, just like the terrorists thugs attack our cherished Christians!>WARNING: THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT BETTER MOVE FAST!”
Responding to the post, the United States Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth reiterated that the American Department of War is ready for action against Islamic terrorists killing Christians in Nigeria.
This new development has sent panic waves among those in government in Nigeria, prompting, not just denials, but an arrangement of a possible meeting between President Bola Tinubu and his American counterpart in a matter of days.
According to President Tinubu’s aide, Daniel Bwala, in a post on his ‘X’ handle, on Sunday, said that the Nigerian President will be visiting the United States in the coming days to clarify issues.
“Both President @Official ABAT and President @realDonaldTrump have shared interest in the fight against insurgency and all forms of terrorism against humanity. President Trump has assisted Nigeria a lot by authorizing the sale of arms to Nigeria and President Tinubu has adequately utilized the opportunity in the fight against terrorism for which we have massive result to show for it.
“As for the differences as to whether terrorists in Nigeria target only Christians or in fact all faiths or no faiths, the differences if they exist will be discussed and resolved by the two leaders when they meet in the coming days either in the State House or White House,” Bwala stated.
This is coming even as the Federal Government continues to vehemently deny that there is no genocide in the country.
