President Bola Tinubu has nominated Mr. Taiwo Oyedele as Minister of State for Finance, replacing Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, who has been redeployed as Minister of State at the Ministry of Budget and National Planning.
The President conveyed Oyedele’s nomination to the Senate on Tuesday in a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio for confirmation.
Oyedele, 50, an economist, accountant, and public policy expert from Ikaram, Akoko, Ondo State, previously chaired the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, which spearheaded the overhaul of Nigeria’s tax system. Before his nomination, he built a distinguished 22-year career at PwC, where he rose to become Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa’s Tax Leader.
