Yoruba youths under the banner of Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide (YCYW) has thrown their weight behind the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the September 22, 2018 governorship election in Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, as according to them, he remained the best of all the candidates.
The group which gave the endorsement in a statement signed by their President, Aremo Oladotun Hassan and their Osun State Chairman, Comrade Sunday Murele, said they arrived at the decision after taking “painstaking effort” to assess all the candidates for the election.
“The leadership of the Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide (YCYW); being the leading and largest umbrella body of all Yoruba Youths and students domiciled within the southwest region, nationally and in Diaspora unanimously pass a vote of confidence and unanimously endorse Senator Ademola Adeleke as the best preferred choice Governor of Osun State come 22nd September, 2018 gubernatorial elections,” the statement read.
“After painstaking efforts, our decision was well researched and considered, having gone through the profiles of all aspirants and candidates for the Osun guber race. Without any iota of doubt and in due recognition of Senator Adeleke’s starling performance in few months he emerged as the Senator for Osun West Senatorial district, he has traversed his hands of care and passionate love for his people beyond his immediate constituency to the entire state.
“He has unequivocally proven to be intellectually upright and capable to serve his people as a true born Omoluabi and God sent liberator of his people from monumental slavery, not forgetting the fact that his late elder brother: Senator Isiaka Adeleke, popularly respected and regarded as “Serubawon” whom was gruesomely murdered had once succeeded on this path of honour before.
“More so, we believe he (Adeleke) can deliver on that same vision of his late brother, coupled with his own double hedged sword of passion and ardent care for his people, precipitating our unanimous resolution and endorsement as the best man for the job; a man of noble character and objective candor to serve his people, and based on wide commendations from majority of the people of Osun state viz: market women, artisans, students, youths and women, while his footprints of landmark achievements has been felt and delivered all promises made till date; he volunteered with various impactful programs enriched to positively enhance their lives as a cheerful giver and hope for the hopeless.
“This and many more reasons affirmed him as the most outstanding man for the job. We are not perturbed either way on the ongoing calculated campaign of columny to taint his highly referred soaring image through a sponsored barrage of media attacks and agent provocateurs, both within the PDP and outside the party, presumed to be a grand conspiracy ploy figment of their imagination from the pit of hell.
“Consequently, for the records, it must be cleared that Senator Ademola Adeleke has the prerequisite educational qualifications to lead Osun State, without being immodest he is constitutionally fit and proper to run for elections and serve as the next Governor of Osun State”.
