Ikeja Electric has said that the reduced hours of electricity supply on its network are due to a “shortfall in the amount of power currently allocated to our network” from the national grid.
The company said the problem is not a fault in its own distribution network. It stated this in a public notice issued on October 5, 2026.
It assured customers that it is engaging relevant stakeholders on how best to serve them. Meanwhile, it will keep distributing the power it receives from the grid as effectively as possible and keep customers informed as the situation develops.
Some customers have complained on social media that they are getting no power at all—not just reduced hours.
