#ENDSARS protesters have come under serious attacks by suspected thugs intent on disrupting and discrediting the youths movement.

According to human rights watchdog, the suspects set dozens of cars ablaze at its recent protest in Abuja, killing three in the process.

Amnesty International says suspected thugs who disrupted the #EndSARS protest in Abuja have killed three persons.

Writing via its Twitter handle on Monday, the group said: “Armed thugs that launched coordinated attacks on #EndSARS protesters around Abuja have killed 3 protesters and burnt dozens of cars belonging to the protesters.

The #ENDSARS movement was started by youths who wanted to bring to the notice of government some of their grievances against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, and to demand a total reform of the Police Force among others, in a peaceful manner.

Although it had progressed peacefully in most parts of the country, some states are beginning to record violence as agitators are being attacked by thugs suspected to have been planted by those eager to stop the movement, in places like Abuja, Lagos, Osun and Edo.

On Sunday, after meeting President Muhammadu Buhari, Senate President Ahmad Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house of representatives, pleaded with the protesters to leave the streets and give the government a chance to carry out their demands.

As at the time of filing this report, Anthony Onome, one of the protesters who was attacked during the weekend passed on at the hospital where he was being treated.
