The West African Examinations Council is set to release the results of the 2020 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination on Monday.
The results were delayed owing to the unrest that trailed the #ENDSARRs protest which led to wanton destruction of lives and properties, thus forcing governments in most states of the federation to impose curfew. In the ensuing violence, looting and arson, some of the council offices were looted, vandalized and burnt by hoodlums and most of the materials carted away or totally destroyed.
The #ENDSARRS protest was targeted at ending police brutality in the country.
The West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination was taken between August 17, 2020 and Saturday, September 12, and the council was expected to release the results on October 27– 45 days after.
