Unknown gunmen reportedly attacked the family residence of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State in the early hours of Tuesday.
According to a report by Vanguard, the assailants—believed to be three in number—stormed the property around 1:00 am, armed with guns and cutlasses. They damaged parts of the building, shattered windows, and caused widespread panic in the neighborhood.
The Okehi Division of the Nigeria Police Force responded promptly to the incident following a distress call from the Senator’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu Ovanja. However, no arrests have been made as of the time of filing this report, and the attackers remain at large.
Although no one was injured during the attack, residents and family members remain shaken, and the motive behind the assault remains unclear.
The police have confirmed that a preliminary investigation into the incident has commenced.
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District, has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
This attack comes amid heightened public attention surrounding the Senator, following her recent sexual harassment allegations against the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
