Amstel Malta has supported women in Abia State with business grants and beauty gift packs as part of activities marking this year’s August Meeting held at the New Government House, Umuahia recently.
According to a statement, the August Meeting is an annual tradition observed across the South East, during which women return to their hometowns to reconnect with their communities, deliberate on communal issues and celebrate their shared heritage.
Amstel Malta used the occasion to celebrate women in Abia State, awarding business grants to five women to support the growth of their enterprises and encourage their entrepreneurial ambitions.
Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, and the First Lady of Abia State, Mrs Priscilla Otti, attended the event alongside the Commissioner for Women Affairs in the state, Dr. Maureen Aghukwa, who also presented business grants to female entrepreneurs at the gathering.
Amstel Malta partnered with Zaron Cosmetics to distribute specially curated beauty packs to attendees, building on a similar collaboration at last year’s edition of the August Meeting.
Speaking at the event, the Senior Brand Manager of Amstel Malta, Francis Obiajulu, said the brand was proud to be part of gatherings that celebrated women beyond their everyday responsibilities.
He said the partnership with Zaron Cosmetics added another dimension to the experience by reminding women to also make time for themselves while they continued to support their families and communities.
Also speaking, the Senior Manager, Marketing and Communication at Zaron Cosmetics, Aderinsola Adetunji, said the company was delighted to continue its partnership with Amstel Malta to celebrate the women behind the August Meeting tradition.
She noted that women contributed a great deal to their families and communities, and described such moments as an opportunity to remind them to also prioritise themselves.
Amstel Malta had earlier in August extended similar recognition to women at the August Meeting in Enugu State, where it honoured them for their contributions to their families and communities.
The brand said its recurring presence at August Meeting events across the South East reflected its commitment to celebrating women beyond a single occasion and engaging them in spaces that matter to them.
