Another Nollywood actor, jnr. Pope Oduwondo has reportedly died Wednesday afternoon during a boat ride while filming in Asaba, Delta State capital.
Pope alongside two of his fellow actors reportedly drowned when the boat they were in capsized.
As soon as he was rescued he was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
According to the Delta State Chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emma Onyemeziem, Pope’s remains had since been deposited in the morgue.
The death of Junior Pope is the latest in a string of tragedies that has hit Nollywood this year.
The year had hardly begun when the Nollywood world experienced the death of Deji Aderemi, popularly known as Olofa Ina.
In February it was Ethel Ekpe. She is well known for playing the role of ‘Segi’ on the Nigerian Television Authority sitcom, ‘Basi and Company’. Then followed by Mr. Ibu and Sisi Quadri who passed on last month.
