The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has been invited to speak at Chatham House, on January 16, 2023, to discuss his plans ahead of the February 25, 2023 general election.
Obi is the second presidential candidate to be invited to address the global forum. The first was the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a tweet on Thursday, Chatham House Africa announced the development, saying, “Nigeria’s 2023 Elections: In conversation with @PeterObi.
“The second of our events examining #Nigeria’s 2023 elections and political developments will take place on January 16, 2023.”
Tinubu during his interview had disclosed his plans for major sectors such as energy, technology, defence and education, if elected president. However, his performance at the Chatham House has been a major source of controversy in the Nigerian media and among the people.
