A fire broke out on Sunday at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, prompting an emergency response by firefighters from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN). The authority said its Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting Service (ARFFS) was swiftly deployed to contain the blaze.
In a statement posted on its official X account, FAAN said emergency responders were working to bring the situation under control. It assured the public that there had been no reported deaths or injuries, adding that further updates would be provided as more information becomes available.
There have, however, been conflicting reports about whether Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 is affected, although FAAN’S report states it is Terminal 1.
