Melania Trump Threatens $1B Suit Against Hunter Biden Over Epstein Claim

By Mary Onyia

In August 2025, First Lady Melania Trump threatened to sue Hunter Biden for $1 billion over comments he made in a July interview on YouTube’s Channel 5, alleging she first met Donald Trump at Jeffrey Epstein’s residence.

Melania’s lawyers have demanded the removal of the video, which has over 1.3 million views, and a formal apology. President Trump confirmed backing his wife’s legal action, dismissing the claim as fabricated: “Jeffrey Epstein has nothing to do with how Melania and I met. They make up stories,” he told Fox News Radio.

Channel 5 host Andrew Callaghan confirmed receiving a legal demand from Melania’s attorneys, while Fox News shared a letter instructing Biden to retract “false, defamatory, and inflammatory statements.” Melania’s spokesperson said her book, Melania, gives the true account of her meeting with Trump.

Hunter Biden has rejected the demand, mocking the threat and suggesting a deposition could force the Trumps to clarify their relationship with Epstein. “These threats of a lawsuit are a distraction,” Biden said, arguing the claim does not meet the threshold for defamation.

Biden, the former president’s son, has worked as a lawyer, lobbyist, and investor. His net worth is estimated at around $1 million.
