The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo=Olu, has banned the operations of commercial motorcyclists, popularly called Okada from plying Ikeja, Apapa, Suru[ere, Eti-osa, Lagos Mainland and Lagos Island routes.
The governor who announced this Wednesday, said the ban was “indefinite” and “total.”
He gave out the directive at a meeting with the Commissioner of Police, Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers, DPO’s, at the State House in Alausa.
Sanwo-Olu said the government took the decision in line with State Transport Sector Reform 2018 to address the chaos and menace created ny the operators of Okada in the afore mentioned areas.
He directed the police to enforce the order without compromise
