Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has reacted to Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG’s remark regarding the 2023 elections.

Pastor Adeboye had in a recent statement attributed to him, expressed doubt as to whether the general elections will hold in 2023.

Sani who had described Pastor Adeboye’s remark as a ‘missile,’ tweeted that he initially thought the remarks were coming from Father Kukah or Rev Father Mbaka, but was shocked that it came from Adeboye.

According to Sani, “Many religious clergies lose their gospel voice or dilutes their sermons when the oppressor is of their faith or denomination

The General Overseer of RCCG had said the 2023 election may not hold, adding that he was still in doubt over the possibilities of the general elections holding come 2023.

Papa G.O. as he is fondly called said God has not revealed to him if elections would hold in 2023.

He, however, added that God might still speak to him.

He stated that God spoke to him about the 2019 elections more than a year to the election, but He has not spoken to him about 2023 election yet.

He said: “As of now, I still don’t know whether or not there will be an election next year, yet. I don’t know because my father has not spoken about it yet. The reason could be in Mathew 6: 34.

“God must have told you – some of you who are prophets, you are closer to Him (God) but is there anyone of you here who can raise your hand to heaven and say without any doubt, there will be  election in 2023?. If you can, tell us, prophet.”

Adeboye said he would pray for any candidate coming to him to seek his blessings.

“For your information, if anyone comes to me from any political party, I will pray for him, the general prayer point I pray for them is that father, let your perfect will for this person be done.

“If witches are concerned about the affairs of the country, then Christians too must be concerned and involved,” he said.
