Delivering a paper at a business forum organised by a group, ‘Oye 4 Osun’ held in Osogbo, coordinator of the group, Alhaja Fauziat Olaniyan, explained that beside availability of fertile land good for agriculture, investment in numerous tourist’s sites that abound in the state would not only earn Osun forex, but would solve problem of rural- urban migration among others.

Olaniyan explained that nearly all food and cash crops could be grown in commercial quantity in many parts of the state, but listed lack of structure that could enhance capacity of farmers to produce in large quantity, lack of market for produce and poor infrastructures in the rural area as some of the challenges being faced by the farmers.

Secretary of the group, Kayode Babaranti, in his presentation, said investing in Oluminrin Waterfalls, Erin Ijesa, Ayukunugba Falls, Oke Ila, and Iragbaji Hills Recreation Centre could earn Osun good revenue to build other infrastructure.

“We just want to set agenda for the economic summit. There are many tourist sites across the state and with our valuation, they are worth several millions of dollars, when fully developed.
