Trump Defends AI “Jesus” Image as Doctor Portrayal, Deletes Post After Backlash

By Our Reporter

Donald Trump on Monday defended posting an AI-generated image that appeared to depict him as Jesus Christ, insisting it was meant to show him as a “doctor” healing people. The image, shared on Truth Social on Sunday, was deleted by Monday morning following widespread backlash.

“I did post it, and I thought it was me as a doctor,” Trump told reporters. “It’s supposed to be me as a doctor, making people better, and I do make people better.” He dismissed criticism, blaming “fake news” for interpreting the image as religious.

The image showed Trump in a white robe with a red sash, holding a glowing orb and extending his hand over a patient — visuals many critics said closely resembled traditional depictions of Jesus. It was posted on Orthodox Easter, intensifying reactions among Christian groups.

The backlash extended across conservative circles. Commentators and Republican figures described the post as “blasphemous,” “inappropriate,” and “juvenile,” with some warning that it could divide his political base.

Even longtime allies voiced concern, urging humility and calling for the post’s removal — a move that was ultimately made within hours as criticism mounted.
