Good Friday: Celebration Of The Lord’s Passion

Today is Good Friday, one of the highlights leading to the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, who came in the form of man; though He is God, suffered and died for us that we may have life; and life in abundance, It is on this that the christain hope lies and without which our faith would have been in vain. This day and which leads up to Easter Sunday and Monday – the day of our Lord’s resurrection – is the crux of the christain religion and of the Faith we have in God,

The significance of this day shows us in very clear terms that our Lord Jesus Christ is our high priest, our mediator with Almighty God. He identified Himself completely with us sinners; stood before God on our side!

Today, Christains come together to gratefully commemorate the Lord’s supreme love for us. Understanding the Lord as our priest, we will understand better our own royal priesthood of our priests.

We share in our Lord’s high priesthood especially when we participate in this self-surrender in obedience, the sacrifice of the cross made present in the signs of bread and wine.

Good Friday recalls graphically the passion and death of Jesus. The passion describes the suffering and death of Jesus Christ, Today, as Christains, we show great reverence for the crucifix, the sign of our redemption.
