Professor Wole Soyinka, a Nobel Prize winner, has had his United States visa revoked for the disparaging remarks he reportedly made about the United States President, Donald Trump.

Soyinka,  gave a press conference in Nigeria recently to inform the public on the situation, especially those who might be expecting him to attend one event or another, of his inability to do so in view of the recent happening.

Although, the Nobel Laureate claimed he had no knowledge of any offence he may have committed to merit the revocation of his US permanent residency, adding that the United State Consular Office gave no reason , report by the ‘Beast’ confirms that Soyinka was reportedly axed for allegedly criticising Donald Trump and comparing him to one of history’s most brutal dictators.

The 91 year old author and playwright and first African to win the  Nobel Peace Prize for Literature in 1986 has thanked the administration for revoking his visa.

Soyinka reportedly thinks the withdrawal of his visa might be down to him saying Trump resembled a white Idi Amin, the Ugandan dictator who massacred 300,00 civilians
